3 Bedroom Apartments for Rent in Ottawa
The scarcest apartment size in central Ottawa, and the one most worth moving quickly on.
Available in Centretown, The Glebe.
Rare by design
Central Ottawa's rental stock was built mostly for one and two people, so three-bedroom apartments are genuinely uncommon in neighbourhoods like the Glebe and Centretown. Families needing three bedrooms usually end up choosing between a rare apartment close in, or a house further out. When one of these units does come up it tends to lease quickly, so it's worth registering interest before there's a vacancy.
Where they exist, they're often in larger heritage buildings or upper-floor conversions with generous room sizes — the layouts are usually better than newer construction of the same bedroom count.
What to weigh
For a family, the deciding factors in central Ottawa are usually the school catchment and whether parking is available, since a household this size is more likely to need a car. The Glebe is the strongest option on both counts among our neighbourhoods: four schools inside its boundaries, and enough residential streets for parking to be workable.
Common questions
Are three-bedroom apartments common in Ottawa?
Not in the central neighbourhoods. Most downtown rental stock is one and two bedrooms, so three-bedroom apartments are limited and lease quickly when available.
What should I do if nothing is available right now?
Contact us and we'll let you know when one comes up. Because these units are scarce, tenants who have registered interest in advance usually hear about them before they're advertised.
